Whilst browsing deviantART for underappreciated art to feature in my series of news articles, I have come across a few great artists who really do deserve far more attention than they get. I decided to feature a few of them here:
robybaer has been on deviantART only a month and already has a gallery full of wonderful paintings. With great use of soft colours and attention to detail, she is definitely one to watch.
Visit her gallery: robybaer.deviantart.com/galler…
----
Freya7 has some lovely photography, particularly her shots of sunsets which have a crisp focus and rich colours. She deserves more attention.
Visit her gallery: freya7777.deviantart.com/galle…
----
xthe-eleanorx is a young writer with a lovely mixture of poetry and prose. She has a great way of telling a story whilst allowing the reader to fill in the gaps. Best of all, she is working hard at improving her craft, so expect more great things in the future.

blue5K has a vibrant gallery full of wonderful photography. What caught my eye were her photographs of birds, but she has a variety of photography so there's sure to be something you like.

The Man in the Coffee ShopThe man who works at the coffee shop looks like you. I noticed this some time ago and have since frequented the place. He recognizes me now. He smiles at me when I come in. His smile even looks like yours. He doesn't say hey though- you always said hey.
I still work at the library even though you're not there.
Sometimes I look over to your desk and expect to see you typing at your computer, but someone else is there now. It's not you.
Sometimes someone will come in who looks like you. Maybe he will have the same hair, same stature, same profile, same laugh, same voice. It's never been you.
Sometimes I drive myself crazy. I pull at my hair and scream 'till my lungs burst. I scream for and at you. I ask how you could have left me here.
Sometimes I allow myself to believe that I will see you again. By chance we will run into each other in a Wal-Mart far away.
I go to the coffee shop on Tuesday afternoons. I order a small chai tea with milk.

He is a reader,

Who hums to himself while his eyes float across the page.

But I don't even know his name.
And I am already infatuated.

BUCKET LIST (DD FEATURE)
Wow, so, I was featured. A piece of literature I wrote for a transliterations (https://www.deviantart.com/transliterations) prompt about 18 months ago was chosen as one of the Daily Deviations yesterday. If you didn't see it, you can do so here: Pillow Memories.
This came as a great surprise to me, especially considering I have not been particularly active within the community these past few months. I am very grateful to BeccaJS (https://www.deviantart.com/beccajs) for putting my piece out there to a wider audience, and to everyone who has taken the time to read it. I have over 100 feedback messages in my inbox right now, which, besides being the most I have ever had at one time, are all :+fav:s for this pie

JOURNAL: Long Time, No See
Hi everyone,
Gosh, it really has been a long time since I posted a journal entry. It's been a long time since I've done anything on dA really, apart from work for ProjectComment (https://www.deviantart.com/projectcomment). I'm sorry for disappearing without any warning, but I hope to make up for my absence in the coming months.
My summer has actually been very busy, despite having three months off, which you'd have thought would have been quite relaxing. I spent around half my week working as I need money for university, and I have to admit that I didn't really enjoy it quite as much as I have done previously. My need for new challenges and experiences is always going to be my p
